PLANNED PARENTHOOD = ABORTION

The numbers of abortions committed by Planned Parenthood each year are staggering. Its own just-released report for 2007-2008 reveals Planned Parenthood is responsible for aborting more than 305,000 babies in the U.S. last year alone, and it acknowledges it has aborted more than 1 MILLION babies just since 2005. According to its own statistics, Planned Parenthood is the world’s No. 1 provider of abortions.

Don’t be fooled by the thousands in local advertising now being spent by Planned Parenthood to mislead Dubuque into believing it is simply a “health clinic” and “education center.” Since the day it opened its doors in August 2008, Planned Parenthood has openly admitted it will refer women and girls in Dubuque for abortions at facilities in nearby cities such as Iowa City, Bettendorf, and Madison.

Will abortions in Dubuque soon follow? Absolutely, if Dubuque is anything like Storm Lake and Spencer (and countless other communities across the nation). Last fall in Spencer, and this past April in Storm Lake, Planned Parenthood quietly ended its “referral only” policy, and – surreptitiously – began administering medical abortions on demand.

OUR PROTEST
Since Planned Parenthood opened its doors in Dubuque, Iowa, in August 2008, more than 200 volunteers of all ages, occupations, churches, and area hometowns have united with one goal:
STOP PLANNED PARENTHOOD.

Braving sub-zero temperatures, snowstorms, pouring rain, and even blistering heat, volunteers have logged more than 3,000 hours, peacefully protesting abortion and Planned Parenthood’s presence in our community.

And it is all subsidized each year with our tax dollars – to the tune of more than $349 million last year – despite Planned Parenthood’s own report that in 2006-07 it had revenue of more than $1 billion. Though it calls itself a “non-profit”, Planned Parenthood candidly lobbies, federally as well as in all 50 states, against any and all Constitutionally-permitted restrictions on abortion – particularly laws that would require parental notification for birth control and abortions performed on minor girls.
